Targeted Marketing

Targeted Marketing

Would you like to approach your ideal customers with a creative and message they relate to along with an offer that appeals to them?  Of course you would!  Through the use of carefully targeted marketing, you can achieve this. Although Direct Mail may be seen as ‘old school’ by many, we continue to see clients achieve real results and huge sales through this method.  It may seem a little more costly, however if every prospect you’re approaching is a potential client, then the Return on Investment is much higher than other forms of marketing. The process begins with looking at your current customers, to find out who they are, the products […]

Why is Networking Important?

Why is Networking Important?

What is the real value of networking?  Well in dollar value it’s hard to put a price to, however as a local business owner it should definitely be an acitivity you include in your marketing plan. Local networking events are full of local business owners wishing to learn something, promote their business and meet like minded people.  Is that such a bad thing? The saying goes ‘People buy from people’ so when potential customers see the face behind the name, it can only be beneficial.   They are more likely to relate to you and this face to face contact allows you to explain exactly what is you are selling or the services you […]

Gold Coast Businesses

Gold Coast Businesses

Since moving to the Gold Coast, from Sydney, people often ask me which place I prefer. From a lifestyle perspective, without a doubt, for me, the Gold Coast has it all and as a business owner, it’s pretty good too. The benefits of running a business on the Gold Coast include: Sunshine Diverse Target Market Lower overheads in terms of wages and office/factory space Large range of qualified potential employees The current economic climate had unfortunately affected many Gold Coast local business owners, with others determined to grow despite the obstacles. One of the things, I personally love, about working on the Gold Coast is coming across so many entrepreneurs.  […]

Social Media Suicide?

Social Media Suicide?

A couple of weeks ago, I came across an interesting situation on a company’s facebook page, that really surprised me. It was on Tupperware Australia and New Zealand’s site and was added by a Tupperware facebook administrator. The short version of the story is that a Tupperware customer asked for a replacement spatula as hers had broken and Tupperware offer a lifetime guarantee on their products. The customer had posted her request on their facebook site and a conversation occurred.  Later that same day, Tupperware then posted a statement, naming the customer personally and stating that they would not be refunding or replacing this item, due to the fact it […]

If you’re a small business owner, you may require assistance with certain aspects of your business. It could be that you’re a Sales demon, but having problems obtaining leads or you’re great at running your business, but unsure how to market it? There are many areas we ‘think’ we understand and can do however, when it comes to execution this often becomes a different story.  Many businesses waste a lot of time and money everyday by trying to do tasks themselves and it prevents them from focusing on the whats important which is running a business. The majority of Australian business owners call upon experts for certain aspects of their business such as accountancy or a bookeeper, […]

Business Cards

Business Cards

Do you use business cards in your organisation? Most companies still use them and if you are a business owner you should definitely think about having them. Business Cards can sometimes be the first impression people have of your company therefore they should reflect what the organisation stands for.  There is no need to over complicate the cards with elaborate design and over use of text.  Often simple can work best. If you’re providing a service, it needs to represent the type of service people should expect to receive – sleek, professional, different, simple. The same applies if it’s a product. Replicate the standard of the product or service in the […]

Olympic Opening Ceremony

Olympic Opening Ceremony

Wow! What a fabulous start the Olympic Games 2012! London opened the Olympic Games with a spectacular display of the country’s past and present using an array of technology, music and lighting. With over 3 billion people tuning in to watch, the £27 million ($40.5 billion AUS), we salute director Danny Boyle for creating an absolute master piece.   Danny, who’s previous work includes Slumdog Millionaire, used 20,000 volunteers to make up his cast and 2,000 crew, staff and suppliers.  This magnificent event certainly got people revved up and ready for Olympic fever. Highlights for me, included the Daniel Craig/Queen ensemble, David Beckham and the awesome music mash up which followed […]

Radio Advertising

Radio Advertising

My local radio station is currently running a campaign slamming online marketing and websites, saying that people don’t relate to a brand well through this.  They are instead promoting radio advertising, surprise, surprise!  I find this kind of approach odd for a couple of reasons. Firstly, why can’t we use radio to drive customers online?  After all 94% of consumers will research a business online prior to making a purchase, so surely there needs to be an online presence of some kind? Secondly, surely they would gain more by suggesting integrated campaigns, which many businesses use to gain maximum exposure and generate additional sales. Lastly, it’s sending out a completely wrong […]

Great deal or lack of customer loyalty? July 30, 2012 Comments are off

I’ve recently signed up with a few deal sites such as Living Social, Spreets and Cudo and everyday I’m inundated with deals. In the past week alone, I’ve contemplated driving up to the Sunshine Coast for PADI course, Taking up Ballet, Going to Port Douglas for an all inclusive 4 day break (the free food tempted me) and having a Microdermabrasion and Glycolic Peel although I’m still not 100% what this actually is. Since signing up I have purchased vouchers for restaurants, hair salon, an educational course and a couple of others.  However every time I purchase a voucher I can’t help but wonder how the businessess I would ordinarily use, are being effected.  […]
